Welcome New CERT Members
Welcome to the Peninsula Community Emergency Response Team C.E.R.T.! Joining the team increases awareness and makes us a more capable community involved response program. Your participation at ANY level is appreciated. Whether you only want to stay informed about CERT, or you’d like to be more active and come to the meetings, take a CERT class, be a block captain or back-up, joining one of our teams, or do radio drills. Anything you can do makes a difference and is worthwhile.
Meetings are at the U.S. Sailing Center, just west of the stop sign at 55th Place. We begin at 7:30 P.M. and usually finish by 8:30. The meetings are informative and educational. We will be planning and/or making critiques of our CERT drills, conducting new as well as old business, and presenting topics of interest to our members. Check the Peninsula Pelican for meeting dates.
Drills will be held twice a year by our Peninsula CERT Team.
You are encouraged to listen in to our “Tuesday Evening Radio Call-In”. Our Block Captains and back-ups, along with our Team leaders will be checking in at 7:30 P.M. to 7:45 P.M., (1930 to 1945). We use channel 4 on our FRS radios.
Besides our Tuesday night call-in, we often meet at the 62nd Pl. Café for Sunday brunches. We are dedicated group, but we have a lot of fun and you’ll like us! If a disaster hits, we plan for an educated Peninsula community response, but hope it never occurs.
